Competition Page Blocks
Sell-through bar, countdown, FAQ, entry list, related competitions. Per-competition toggles and site-wide defaults.
Each competition page is built from a stack of blocks: prize gallery, ticket selector, progress, countdown, prize details, FAQ, entry list, related competitions. Most are on by default; a few you toggle. This page covers what each block does and when you’d turn it off.
The block list
- Prize gallery (always on): main hero image plus thumbnails. Upload 4–6 images per competition for the carousel effect.
- Ticket selector + Add to cart(always on), covering quantity, price, and bulk-buy discounts if you’ve set them.
- Sell-through bar(default on). Shows “x of y tickets sold” and drives urgency. Hide on slow-selling competitions where an empty bar undermines confidence.
- Countdown timer (default on), counting down to the draw. Hide for long-running comps (90+ days) where the counter feels eternal.
- Prize details / specs (always on) covers rich-text description, prize value, and RRP, the place where you sell the dream.
- Instant-win badge + reveal (auto, only if the competition has instant wins), surfacing the bonus prizes available without waiting for the draw.
- FAQ accordion (default on), pre-filled with generic raffle FAQs; edit per-competition under Marketing → FAQ.
- Entry list (default on), listing recent ticket buyers with their tickets. See Entry List Display.
- Related competitions rail (default on); see Related Competitions.
- Trust strip (default on), showing UK-based, free entry route, and payment logos. Mostly always-on; some operators remove it for high-design pages.
Per-competition overrides
Open Admin → Competitions → [competition] → Page layout. Toggles for every block above. Save and the page updates immediately, with no rebuild needed.
Site-wide defaults
Open Admin → Brand → Competition page defaults to set what the toggles are set to for new competitions you create. Useful so you only choose your block layout once.
Common patterns
- Flagship (high-value) competition: all blocks on. Maximum information density justifies the higher ticket price.
- Quick-flip £1 competition: turn off sell-through bar and entry list if they’d look empty, but keep the countdown for urgency.
- Charity / one-off competition: hide the related competitions rail (keeps the page focused), and add custom FAQ entries explaining the cause.
